Chicago Cops fire shots at carjacking suspect, no one hurt

Chicago police fired shots at an armed carjacking suspect in the city's West Chesterfield neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said today.

No one was struck in the incident that happened at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East 90th Place, police said.

Police stopped a vehicle they believe was involved in an earlier carjacking when an armed man got out and confronted police, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The Gresham District officers weren't able to catch the man, who fled on foot, but did take another man inside the vehicle into custody, Greer said.

No charges were filed as of this morning.
